Rio is broke again. Rent is due, her fridge is empty, and her job is hunting terrorists across Neo-Tokyo with a crew that includes a gun nut who names her weapons and a pilot who spends more time spying on his teammates than flying. Team Warrior gets the jobs nobody else wants: babysitting VIPs, busting robbery rings, running security for a tank so powerful it needs its own escort. Half the time they are chasing crooks. The other half they are chasing their own paychecks. Then the missions stop feeling random. Every raid, every arms deal they smash, keeps circling back to the same name: Ruby, an operative working for men who never show their faces. She is always one step ahead, and the team starts to wonder if they are being led somewhere on purpose. Piecing it together means digging into things nobody on the squad talks about, like how Team Warrior came to exist at all, how a teenager ended up carrying a badge, and what Maki buried years ago. So who is really pulling the strings: the shadowy cabal, or the woman giving the orders?
