Kivotos runs on guns and school bells. Thousands of academies, one city, and every student carries a firearm like it's a pencil case. The General Student Council keeps the whole thing from collapsing, until the day its president simply vanishes. No goodbye, no trail. Just an empty chair and a city that starts to fray at the edges. Before she disappeared, she set up S.C.H.A.L.E. and asked one person to run it: Sensei, the only teacher around. His first job lands him at Abydos High, which used to be prestigious and now has five students left. Five. The school is drowning in debt, close to a billion yen, and the doors are about to shut for good. Sensei steps in to help them fight it off, but the money is only part of what's wrong with this city. What exactly was the president hiding when she built S.C.H.A.L.E., and why did she pick him?
