Three sinners tear their way out of Hell and land in Karakura Town, and the fight that follows is vicious. Ichigo and his friends beat them back. Then the dust settles, and his sisters are gone. The whole attack was bait. Shuren, the one leading these escapees, wants Ichigo down below, because a living Soul Reaper walking through those gates might be the only thing that can break his chains. So Ichigo follows, guided by a sinner named Kokutou who knows the paths. The Soul Society tells him to stop, afraid that poking at the wall between worlds will bring it all down. Ichigo goes anyway. Here is the part that should worry him. Kokutou warns that if Ichigo lets his inner hollow out inside Hell, his body and mind are gone for good. No way back home. Friend and enemy stop meaning much down there, and every choice he makes could drag the living world, the Soul Society, and Hell down together. Which version of himself will he have to become to save his sisters?
