A military transport goes down in the woods, and Sybel, a freelance reporter who works alone and trusts nobody, gets there before anyone else. Jackpot. She starts shooting footage, already picturing the front page. What she does not know yet is what was in the cargo hold: two prototype combat androids, built to kill one specific person. Something in their programming slipped, and now they are loose in a city of millions. The army rolls in to bury the whole mess, and they are useless. Nothing they throw at the machines slows them down. Buildings come apart, the body count climbs, and through it all Sybel stays on the move, because the girl these things are hunting is still out there, walking around like nothing is wrong. Sybel has to reach her first and keep her alive, camera still running. It is a lone woman and a frightened kid against two killing machines in a metropolis that is turning to rubble block by block. She can save the target, or she can get the story of her career on tape. Can she really pull off both?
