China, second century. The Han court rots from the inside while eunuchs pull the strings and warlords sharpen their blades. Into this mess steps Cao Cao, a man with a plan nobody asked for: burn the old ways down and build something that actually works. He doesn't pray for order. He makes it, province by province, sometimes with a speech, sometimes with a knife in the dark. Here's the twist. History has always cast him as the villain. Every novel, every legend, he's the schemer you root against while Liu Bei plays the noble hero. This time the tables turn. Liu Bei barely registers. Cao Cao gets the spotlight, drawn from the oldest records rather than the famous novel, so the man you thought you knew looks nothing like the monster from the stories. His real enemy isn't a rival army though. It's an entire civilization that would rather cling to dusty Confucian ideals than admit they're drowning. And he will lie, betray and burn whatever stands in the way of dragging China forward. So when the cost of fixing everything keeps climbing higher, how much is he willing to sacrifice before he becomes the very thing he set out to destroy?
