Episode 3 · Battle Skipper

Battle Skipper

At St. Ignacio's School for Girls, the Etiquette Club is where you go to learn which fork to use. Then its members take a wrong turn and end up somewhere far below the school. Down there they find Battle Skippers: top of the line military mecha, plus the tiny outfits they have to wear to pilot the things. Now they call themselves Extars and fight to wipe evil off the face of the earth. That mostly means dealing with Sayaka, the filthy rich president of the rival Debutante Club, and her loyal stooge Todo. Her plans get weird. We are talking about schoolgirl grudges that somehow end with satellite weapons firing from orbit. Three episodes from 1995, made to sell a line of robot toys, and directed by the guy who went on to Slayers. The whole thing runs on the idea that a fight over club prestige can escalate into a full military operation. How far is Sayaka willing to take this before someone finally says enough?
