Backflip!!
Shoutarou Futaba spent years warming the bench on his middle school baseball team, watching everyone else play. Then one afternoon he stops by a park and sees a group of guys practicing something he has never paid attention to before: men's rhythmic gymnastics. He goes to a competition just to look. Shoushukan High puts on a wild routine, and still finishes second to last, docked for showing up with only five men when the rules demand six. So he enrolls at Shoushukan and asks to join a sport he has never tried. The club takes him, and they also land Ryouya Misato, a kid who placed second at a junior tournament and knows exactly how good he is. Now the roster is full. The goal is Inter-High. Only gymnastics is nothing like baseball. Nobody hands you a bat and lets you swing. There is coordination, balance, timing with five other people, and Shoutarou is starting from zero, stumbling through the basics while the team waits on him to catch up. Can a former benchwarmer really turn himself into a gymnast in time?
