Atom: The Beginning
A disaster no one can explain tears through Japan, and five years later the country is still piecing itself back together. In a university lab, two young researchers pour everything they have into robots. Umataro Tenma wants to build something close to a god. Dr. Ochanomizu just wants a friend. They argue, they tinker, they stay up all night, and together they put the finishing touches on a machine called A106. This is the story of everything that led up to the birth of Astro Boy. Then the machine opens its eyes. Suddenly the question is not whether it works. It is what the two of them have actually made. Tenma sees a spark of the divine and reaches for it. Ochanomizu sees someone to talk to. Their hopes for the project were never the same, and now the thing sitting in front of them has to become something. So what does A106 turn into?
