Setsuna Mudo just wants to finish high school in one piece. Hard to do when the seniors are built like walls and his own head is a bigger mess: he's in love with his sister Sara, and she only shows up once a month. Then the ambush comes. Angels and demons corner him in the street, and both sides talk like they've known him for centuries. One calls him Alexiel, their fallen leader. The other says he once marched them into war against God. Setsuna is sixteen. He doesn't remember any of it. Inside him sleeps a fallen angel, sentenced to be reborn again and again in a human body, and Heaven and Hell have been waiting for this particular body to wake up. Now they want him to pick a side. They want a messiah. What he wants is Sara, and a world without her in it isn't worth saving. So what do you do when two armies hand you a destiny you never asked for, and the only person you'd burn it all down for barely knows you exist?
