The Spearhead Squadron vanished past the horizon, and the Republic of San Magnolia just kept churning out the same old propaganda like nothing happened. Vladilena Milizé is still Handler One, still barking orders at a fresh batch of Eighty-Six kids nobody wants to call human. Then the story swings west. Shinei Nouzen and what's left of his squad wake up in Giad, not dead after all. The new government hands them citizenship, a roof, and a girl named Augusta Frederica, the last empress, living under President Zimmerman's care. Hot meals. No whips. Sounds like paradise, right? Except none of them can sleep. The quiet feels wrong, their hands keep twitching for triggers, and soon enough they sign up for the Nordlicht Squadron and march straight back into the Legion's teeth, Augusta riding along with them. Same mud, same screams, different flag. So what do you do when freedom tastes like nothing and the only place you feel alive is the one trying to kill you?
