A little girl is walking through the city when something in a shop window stops her cold. A big plush bear sits behind the glass. She steps closer for a better look. Then the bear waves at her. Just like that, friendly as anything, and invites her along to a magical land. Here is the catch. This bear is not soft and cuddly the way he looks. He is Control Bear, and he has a thing or two to say about who is really in charge of your life. A cute teddy who takes his own head off should not make sense, and that is exactly the point. The artist behind him tried all sorts of things first, letters and paper collages and drawings, before settling on this strange little guy to carry the message. Simple to look at. Not so simple once you sit with it. So a plush toy leads a child into a wonderland, grinning the whole way. What is waiting for her on the other side, and who exactly is holding the strings?
