Haruka Sakura learned early that his face and his blunt way of talking made people back away. So he made his fists the one thing nobody could argue with. Furin High has a reputation as a school where students brawl all day, and that suits him fine. He shows up with a single plan: beat everyone and take the top spot. Then, the day before classes start, he gets jumped in the street. A few guys from Furin jump in beside him, not against him. Turns out this place does not run on fear at all. The students call themselves Bofurin, and their real job is keeping the town of Makochi safe. Shopkeepers wave at them. Kids run up to them. Sakura has no idea what to do with any of it. When serious enemies come for the town, he has to fight next to people who actually want him around. That is the part he cannot get used to. The kid who never had anyone now has a whole neighborhood counting on him. Can someone who only ever trusted his own two hands learn to stand with everyone else?
