Welcome, Chitose

Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan · おこしやす、ちとせちゃん
Slice of Life2018GatheringRating 6,80+HD

A tiny emperor penguin named Chitose wanders the streets of Kyoto like she owns the place. She does not, but nobody seems to mind. She stops at Kiyomizu Temple, waddles past Ginkaku, cuts through the alleys of Gion, and every so often a stranger crouches down with something tasty in hand. That is the whole deal. She walks, people melt, snacks appear. Then it hits you: this little bird is seeing a city most visitors never slow down enough to notice. Bridges. Narrow lanes. Steam off a bowl of something local. The food keeps coming and so do the conversations, and somewhere in all that wandering the day has quietly gone soft around the edges. Nothing dramatic happens here, and that is the point. Just a penguin, a very old city, and a rotating cast of humans who cannot resist her. So what exactly is she looking for out there, one temple at a time?
