Then people start putting machines inside their own bodies, and the line between flesh and metal gets thin enough that the UN slams down a ban on all robotics research in 2067. Japan, sitting on top of the industry, fights it hard. Loses anyway. So the country walks out of the UN, cuts itself off from everyone, and keeps trading while vanishing from the world stage. Ten years of silence. Then strange incidents start piling up, and the American tech police unit SWORD gets suspicious: that isolation might be a cover for banned work running on the hidden RACE network. They send a team in. Vexille, one of the most experienced agents on the squad, is among them. What she finds inside those sealed borders is something nobody back home was ready for. So what exactly has Japan been building in there for a decade, and what happens when an agent who was sent to spy on it gets too close?
