Touta Konoe studies magic in a sleepy town where nothing ever happens, practicing under Yukihime, the teacher who looks after him like family. Then a monster nearly kills him. Yukihime saves his life by turning him into a vampire, and just like that, the boy who used to daydream about leaving home can never die. He has always wanted to climb Amanomihashira, the tower that stretches from the ground all the way into space. Now nothing can stop him, not even a fatal wound. On the road he runs into a hidden crew of immortals who call themselves UQ Holder, and they take him in like one of their own. Training gets brutal, enemies come out of nowhere, and every fight teaches him how far his new body can go. But immortality has a price, and the people hunting him know exactly what it is. What happens when a boy who cannot die finally meets something worth risking forever for?
