Seth is a scruffy kid in Pompo Hills who wants one thing: to be a great sorcerer. Every day he practices magic, and every day it blows up in his face. His adopted mother Alma yells at him for it. The villagers just sigh. Then a giant Nemesis egg drops right on the village. A monster hatches. Houses crumble, and Seth, with his teacher gone, can barely slow the thing down. While everyone panics, a pack of thieves moves in, pretending to evacuate people while robbing the village's gold. Alma makes it back in time to deal with them, and Seth somehow finishes off the monster. That should be the end of it. It isn't. Seth decides he's going to wipe out every Nemesis, all of them, and he walks off to find Radiant, the legendary place people say they come from. Doc and Mélie go with him. They're sorcerers too, infected like him, and they want the same thing he does: a world that stops hunting people like them. But the road to Radiant runs through enemies who are stronger than anything in Pompo Hills. What exactly is waiting at the end of it?
