Ayu Tateishi has her middle school life perfectly under control. Tennis club, good grades, cool head. All of it aimed at one thing: getting Tetsushi Kaji, the basketball star every girl in school sighs over, to finally notice her. Then a new transfer student named Nina Sakura sits down in class, and Ayu's calm routine cracks right down the middle. Nina is a witch. An actual one, from a magic kingdom, with a mini computer that casts spells. Problem is, the spells backfire. Every single time. Nina's magic turns crushes into disasters and quiet school days into chaos, and Ayu keeps getting dragged in because she is the only one who knows the truth. Which would be fine if Hiroki Tsujiai, Tetsushi's sharp-eyed best friend, would stop watching them so closely. He reads too much manga, notices too much, and Nina's secret is one wrong move from being out in the open. It gets worse. Nina isn't just here to practice spells. She has to find five Holy Stones to earn the right to marry a prince back home, and that search pulls in rivals and strangers from the Magic Kingdom. Ayu wanted a normal year and a shot with Tetsushi. Instead she is chasing stones across a world she never believed in. So who exactly is Hiroki going to figure out first: the witch, or the girl covering for her?
