Every day after school, Haneru Tobitatsu plants himself outside Memorial Hall and dances like nobody's watching. He's a middle school kid with too much energy and one big dream: to move like Jey El, the biggest name in dance. He thinks the spot is his own private secret. It isn't. Kanon Otosaki has been coming to the same place to practice, and she's been watching him the whole time. What Haneru doesn't know is that she's actually Rhythm, a dancer famous all over the internet. The second he finds out, he wants her on his team. Kanon isn't so sure. Still, dancing with someone else turns out to feel different from dancing alone, and the two of them start heading into street dance battles together. Along the way they pick up Kumonosuke, Mizuki, and Yuzuru, and the five of them become Tribe Cool Crew. The competition out there is rough. Now they're chasing one goal: to stand on the same stage as Jey El. Plenty of crews want that spot, and only the best get close. Can a bunch of kids who started out messing around in front of a hall really make it that far?
