Somewhere in a Japanese elementary school there is a classroom full of fifth graders, and most days it looks like total chaos. Ryota Sato sits at his desk, but the show barely treats him like the star: his classmates get just as much screen time, and the girls usually steal it anyway. Recess, jokes that fall flat, games nobody remembers the rules of. Just another ordinary school day. Then something shifts. The kids start acting older than they are. A boy looks at a girl a second too long. Someone says something meant as a tease and it lands wrong. These are still children, mind you. That is exactly what makes it funny, and a little alarming. The girls seem years ahead of the boys, calm and knowing, right up until they don't. Give them a minute and they turn out to be louder, sillier and far more dangerous than anyone in the room. Ryota and his friends try to keep up, mostly failing, while the misunderstandings pile up faster than anyone can sort them out. So who is really in charge of class 5-2?
