Summer break should be easy. Hibiki Tachibana has punched out gods, walked away from explosions that should have killed her, and still cannot finish her summer homework before the new semester starts. The rest of her life is a different story: she suits up in ancient armor called Symphogear and works with a UN military outfit known as S.O.N.G., handling disasters and international messes that never make the evening news. Then a routine briefing turns into something else. Tsubasa and Maria, digging into the Alexandria incident, trace it back to the Bavarian Illuminati, the same shadowy crowd behind Carol and the Frontier disaster. The trail leads to Val Verde, a South American republic chewed up by war, where the team raids a manufacturing plant and walks hundreds of slaves out of it. That is when three alchemists step out of the shadows: Saint-Germain, Cagliostro, and Prelati. They do not run. They announce a global revolution, and to prove they mean it, thousands of people die on the spot. The power they wield is like nothing the wielders have faced, something that could bring down even God himself. Now Hibiki and her friends have to go up against an enemy that has been pulling strings for a very long time. How do you beat people who treat human lives as fuel for a spell?
