Lina and Gourry roll into Acassi hungry, and the town's famous octopus tentacles are too good to pass up. Bad call. The curse kicks in fast: everyone who ate the stuff can only speak Takogo, the octopus language, and their magic is gone with it. Amelia and Zelgadiss show up just in time to get hit too. Four heroes, zero spells, and nobody can order lunch. That's when the octopi make their move. Tired of being dinner, they've called in a mazoku to finish the humans off for good, and a would-be conqueror named Gaav is suddenly looming over the whole mess. The only lead left is Ruma, a white sorceress in town who supposedly knows the cure from her long-lost master. Finding her is one problem. Getting her to teach it before everything goes up in flames is another. Can a crew that can't cast a single spell talk their way out of this, or is Acassi about to belong to the octopi?
