Tokyo, 1930. A train pulls in and a group of strangers steps onto the platform, each one carrying a musical instrument case. Nobody looks twice. They are Jaegers, vampire hunters working for the V Shipping Company, and the cases hold weapons, not violins. The city's authorities call them in because the bodies keep piling up, and the hunters finish each fight with the same cold brutality as the things they're chasing. Then there's Yuliy. Calm face, quiet voice, and the most dangerous fighter on the team. He's a werewolf, and every vampire he kills is personal: his whole village was wiped out in a raid, and he's the only one who walked away. But helping the police is just the cover story. The Jaegers and the vampires are really tearing into each other over the Ark of Sirius, an artifact that can decide what happens to the world, and both sides want it first. So while the police think they've hired a cleanup crew, Yuliy is hunting something much bigger than revenge. What happens when he finally figures out what the Ark can actually do?
