Long ago, humans and demons figured out they could cultivate side by side and reach something like bliss together. Some of them got greedy instead. Xiao Li has her own plan: grant a thousand wishes, and she gets to become a real dragon. Simple enough, until she walks down the mountain and runs straight into Qiu Shui, a demon hunter who has decided Xiao Li is her next catch. So Xiao Li runs, fights back, ducks into an apprenticeship, picks up new skills, and causes no small amount of trouble. Friends pile up along the way, along with close calls and hard lessons. And somewhere in all that chasing, she and Qiu Shui start circling each other in a way that looks less like hunter and prey and more like something neither of them wants to name. Nuwa made humans and demons both, and she put good and bad in the same soul. A test? A nudge toward purity? Nobody seems sure. If fate keeps pulling a demon hunter and her target closer together, who is really being caught?
