He died a stupid, ugly death, and woke up with no arms, no legs, no face. Just a blade. A sword lying in the dirt somewhere deep in a forest crawling with monsters. He can't even say his own name, because he forgot it. Then a cat girl bursts out of the trees, running from something with teeth, and grabs him. She swings once. The monster drops. Her name is Fran. She names him Master, and just like that, a weapon nobody remembers and a kid nobody wants become a team. Only she belongs to the Black Cat Tribe, and everyone treats that name like a curse. No one from her people has ever evolved into something stronger. Her parents dreamed it could happen. She plans to be the one who does it anyway, and Master promises to stay her sword until she gets there. So they walk into the adventurers guild looking for work, and the looks they get are not friendly. A sword that can move on its own and a small beast girl with a bad reputation. What could possibly go wrong first?
