Episode 1 · Psyren

Psyren

Ageha Yoshina is the guy you call when you need a problem solved, as long as you can pay. So when he spots a weird card in a phone booth with the word Psyren printed on it, he pockets it without thinking. Then he notices his classmate Sakurako has the exact same card. He asks her about it. She doesn't explain. She just begs him to save her. The next day she's gone. No trace, no goodbye. So Ageha does the only thing left and dials the number on the card. A voice on the other end runs him through a strange set of questions, then drops the last one: would you like to go to Psyren? That's when he finds out the card is a ticket, and the destination is a ruined world crawling with monsters called Taboo. He and Sakurako get psychic powers out of the deal. The catch is that dying there is very much on the table. Now they're stuck playing a game they never agreed to, fighting through a place that wants them dead, searching for a way back to the lives they had. How many trips can you survive before the card stops bringing you home?
