A collector named Gelardan has spent years chasing rare Pokémon, and now he wants the biggest prize of all: Lugia, the guardian of the sea. His plan is simple and reckless. To smoke Lugia out, he goes after three legendary birds who keep the world in balance, Zapdos of lightning, Articuno of ice, and Moltres of fire. The moment he disturbs them, everything goes wrong. Storms erupt across the planet. One of them throws Ash, Misty and Tracey off course, and their ship washes up on Shamouti Island, where the locals tell of an old prophecy: when the titans are torn from their places, the sea's guardian rises to set things right. Ash barely has time to process this before he learns the islanders believe he is the chosen one meant to stand beside Lugia. The world is coming apart at the seams, and a thief in an airship is still out there hunting the one creature who could hold it together. Ash has to find the nerve to face both of them. Can a kid from Pallet Town really carry a prophecy on his shoulders?
