Ping Pong the Animation
Two high schoolers, best friends since they were kids. Peco talks big, skips practice, and swears he'll be the best ping pong player alive. Smile barely says a word, and when he plays, something in him pulls every shot back. He could beat Peco. He never does. Then Peco hears a former Chinese national team player has landed at a rival school. He drags Smile along to watch, picks a fight, and gets crushed so badly in a single game that he stops understanding why he ever picked up a paddle. That's when Katase's coach steps in, and not for Peco. He wants Smile. He starts training the quiet kid to finally go all out, except Smile refuses to play unless it's fun. At the inter-high tournament the real monsters are waiting, each one carrying his own private mess. Talent, ego, burnout, all of it colliding over a table with a tiny ball. What happens to a kid who can only win when nobody is watching?
