In 2027, Seiga Academy is hooked on Phantasy Star Online 2. Everyone plays. Itsuki Tachibana does not. He is the rare student who just shows up, does the work, and goes home, which is exactly why the student council president Rina Izumi corners him one afternoon. The school is reviewing the game, wondering if it messes with grades. Rina wants proof it does not, and she needs a test subject. So she makes Itsuki her vice president. His assignment: play the game, keep his marks up, and file daily reports on everything he sees. He says yes. Then he sits down at the keyboard and realizes he has no idea what he is doing. Now he is grinding levels, taking notes, and trying to stay awake in class the next morning. Rina reads every report. The review board is watching. If Itsuki slips, the game gets banned and half the school hates him. Can one non-gamer really decide whether an entire academy gets to keep playing?
