In 2115, the place once called Japan is now the 17th Far East Imperial City Management District. Citizens traded a few freedoms for peace, and every day looked like the one before it. Nobody worried. Nobody asked questions. Then people started crumbling. A disease nicknamed Degradation turns a human body into nothing but a pile of sand, and it is quietly spreading across the globe. Tohru Kazasumi is just a student, until he is pulled into a war between his own world and a parallel one, Frontier S, where everyone does exactly as they please. The two worlds are merging. To stop that, each side picks its shooters and sends them back to 2015 to wipe out the other before it can fully take shape. Tohru and his three childhood friends have to survive that fight, which means facing the versions of themselves that grew up on the other side. Same faces. Different lives. Different triggers. Tohru is supposed to kill his own alternate self, and the friends standing next to him may be aiming at people just like them. Can two worlds ever share one future, or does only one of them get to exist?
