Kyoutarou Ichikawa keeps to himself, slouches in the back row, and says almost nothing. Inside his head it is a different story. He pictures killing his classmates, one gruesome method after another, and his favorite target is Anna Yamada, the prettiest girl in school and a magazine model. She earned that honor simply by being popular and perfect. Then the library happens. He ducked in there to be alone and keeps running into Yamada, who turns out to be a total airhead. She misreads every room, drops things, blurts out whatever pops into her head. The model face cracks open, and underneath it is someone clumsy and weirdly sweet. Now the boy who dreamed of ending her wants to stand between her and anything that might hurt her. He cannot explain the switch, and he definitely cannot say it out loud. So what happens when the girl he once wanted dead becomes the one person he cannot stop thinking about?
