Jirou has one goal for his third year: get paired with Shiori, the childhood friend he has quietly loved for years. The school runs a marriage practical where boys and girls are thrown together into an apartment and graded on how convincingly they play husband and wife. Cameras watch everything. Akari, loud and popular, has her own plan, and it involves Minami, the handsome guy half the class sighs over. Then the lists go up. Jirou gets Akari. Shiori gets Minami. Both of them stand there staring at the board while the exact thing they wanted slips away. So they make a deal. The top ten pairs are allowed to swap partners, provided everyone involved signs off. That means Jirou and Akari have to climb the rankings by acting like the most devoted couple in school, cooking together, bickering over chores, selling it hard enough to fool the cameras and the ratings. The crush they each keep chasing is now watching from the outside. And somewhere between the fake arguments and the fake apologies, the act starts to feel less like an act.
