Mei sees ghosts. That is the whole problem, really. They crowd her, so people her own age keep their distance, and she has spent years being the girl talking to empty air. Then comes a red full moon, a stranger named Charlie who calls himself a magician, and one wrong step that drops her into Meiji-era Tokyo, where the dead are not a secret at all. Charlie walks her straight into the Rokumeikan, right in the middle of a ball, and suddenly she is surrounded by Ougai Mori, Otojirou Kawakami, Kyouka Izumi and a handful of other famous men she only knows from textbooks. Here is the part nobody warns her about. The thing that made her a weirdo back home makes her valuable here. She is a Tamayori, someone who can see what others cannot, and the men around her start looking at her differently once they find out. Some want her gift. Some just want her. Between the fancy parties and the ghosts hovering at the edges of every room, Mei has to figure out who is genuinely on her side while her feelings for these men get messier by the day. She still has no idea how to get back to her own time. And honestly, the longer she stays, the less sure she is that she wants to. So what happens when the moon turns red again?
