A white hare with jewel eyes steps through a magic card and lands on the wrong beach entirely. Ruby meant to find a partner in the human world. Instead she tumbles out of thin air right in front of Akari Sakura, who is just walking to school and has no idea what she is looking at. The rabbit speaks a language Akari cannot understand until she pops a special candy into her mouth, and suddenly the words come out clear. Then a Jewel Charm appears on Akari's hand. That is when it sinks in: Ruby picked her, and there is no backing out now. Ruby is from Jewel Land, her magic misfires more often than it works, and she needs a human partner to compete in the Jewel Star Grand Prix. The prize is simple and enormous. Win, and any wish gets granted. Akari signs up, even though she has no training, no experience, and a partner whose spells keep blowing up in their faces. Can a girl who just met a talking rabbit really beat everyone else to the top, or is this whole thing going to fall apart?
