A sea pirate and a samurai step off a ship into the American West. Captain Harlock and Tochiro have crossed an ocean to find a lost clan of Japanese immigrants, people who vanished into the dust somewhere out past the last town. They pick up a woman along the way, Shinunora, and she carries a few secrets of her own. The three of them share one road. Then the road turns ugly. Brothels that hold women against their will. Bandits who take whatever isn't nailed down. A sheriff wearing a badge over a rotten heart. Each stop pulls the travelers deeper into somebody else's fight, and they never once back away from it. The frontier is a hard, empty place where nobody weak gets to dream. Harlock and Tochiro cut their way west, tearing the territory apart for a single clue about where the clan went. What happens when the men searching for a home discover the West has already swallowed it whole?
