Midori Akitsu was twenty-seven when her body gave out in that cramped apartment, done in by nothing more than work. Then a god shows up with an offer: a second life in the world of Asdyllon, plus one job. Watch the humans there, see how they treat every other living thing, and decide if they deserve to keep breathing. Pretty heavy for a dead office worker. Here's the twist. When the god asks what she wants in return, Midori doesn't ask for power or money. She asks for fur. Soft bellies, warm paws, the whole thing. So he blesses her: every non-human creature in this world will love her on sight. Reborn as Nefertima, a duke's tiny daughter, she now has mice, beasts, even holy guardians lining up to be squeezed. Life is good. Life is fluffy. Except she's five years old and mostly worried about finding the next animal to hug, while something much colder waits behind the blessing. What happens when she finally understands what she was actually sent here to do?
