Akira Natsume can't stand gadgets. Weird, since he's the guy everyone calls when a machine breaks. In 2014 he decides to man up, get a girlfriend, act like a proper older brother. Then a truck turns him into a memory. He wakes up sixteen years later. No body. Just a brain in a box, wired into something called an EX-ARM, a weapon built to level cities. A police officer named Minami and her android partner Alma are the ones who flipped his switch, and they need him to work right now, because they are stuck on a smuggler ship with nowhere to run. Akira wants no part of it. Then he remembers his brother saying something that sticks, and he takes over Alma's body and starts throwing hands. The ship's systems open up to him like nothing he has ever felt. One port, and he owns the whole vessel. Back on land he meets the rest of the EX-ARM team, a police unit trying to stop these weapons from tearing everything apart, and he signs up. He has seen what people do to get one of these things. So what exactly is he now, a boy, a machine, or the next disaster they're hunting?
