Margaret Hart can hit a tin can at fifty paces and she wants the sheriff's badge to prove it. So she buys a ticket to Sunshine Hill and settles into her seat, boots up, hat tipped low. Then the train screeches, the doors slam open, and a pack of ex-Confederate soldiers starts taking wallets and watches from everyone on board. Margaret gets shoved in with the other hostages. That's when things get strange. Five other women are sitting right there in the same car: Caroline, a farm girl with dirt still on her hands, Janet the doctor, Alice who clearly comes from money, Helen who sings in a saloon, and Lola, quiet, watching everything, and faster on the draw than anyone expects. Nobody planned this. Nobody gave an order. Now six women, one of them barely more than a girl, have to take back a moving train from men with rifles and nothing left to lose. There's a cargo in the back car the bandits want badly enough to kill for, and Lola seems to know more about it than she's saying. Can a would-be sheriff and five strangers with no badges and no backup stop them before the train reaches its stop?
