Episode 7 · Drifting Dragons

Drifting Dragons

For fifty years, humans have hunted dragons from the sky. Every scale, every bone, every drop of blood is worth a fortune: food, medicine, fuel. So the drakers sail their airships through the clouds, chasing beasts that could swallow them whole. The work looks glorious from the ground. It isn't. Take the Quin Zaza, one of the last ships still flying. Its crew has no home waiting for them, because regular folks want nothing to do with dragon hunters. Keeping the old girl in the air eats money and patience, and no two dragons fight the same way. On board, Takita scrambles to prove she belongs, Mika charges in before anyone can stop him, and Jirou chases something he left behind on the ground. When a hunt goes wrong miles above solid earth, there is no running, no backup, just the crew and whatever is coming at them. The reward is huge. The price might be bigger. Can a bunch of outcasts with nothing left to lose really carve out a home in the sky?
