The DigiDestined are just trying to live normal lives now. School, new friends, trips to see family. Then one ordinary afternoon an egg shows up on the internet, and it is nothing but errors, glitch after glitch packed into a shell. Koushiro notices something is off and runs to find Taichi. By the time they start digging, the thing has already hatched. It eats data. That is all it does, and the more it swallows, the bigger and stranger it gets. Phone lines drop, traffic lights go dark, systems across Japan start falling over one by one. Taichi and Koushiro send Agumon and Tentomon into the network to fight it, but this new Digimon keeps evolving faster than they can keep up. Then they find out it has slipped inside American military computers, and a digital problem stops being just digital. Yamato and Takeru get the call, and the four of them have to pull off the kind of rescue they thought they were done with. The clock is running, the enemy is growing, and every second of eaten data makes it stronger. Can they really shut this thing down before it reaches something they cannot take back?
