Destiny Child
The devil king Lucifero up and quits. Just like that. No warning, no ceremony, just an announcement that he's retiring and someone else has to take the throne. So the Devil King Cadets pour out of the underworld and into the human world, all of them scrambling to win the succession contest. All except one. Osamu, Lucifero's own descendant, couldn't care less. He has a shift at the convenience store. That's when the contest stops being a game. Osamu gets dragged in anyway, and the rules demand he collect familiars called Child, strange little beings born from human souls. The other cadets are already stacking up powers while Osamu is still clocking in, restocking shelves, a few steps behind everyone. He seems fine with that. The problem is that the throne is not the only thing at stake, and every cadet who passes him up is one more who might decide he's in the way. So how long can a kid keep choosing part-time shifts before the underworld decides to collect him too?
