Broken Blade
On the continent of Cruzon, everything runs on quartz. Cook a meal, fire a cannon, fly a machine: all of it takes the same gift, and almost everyone has it. Rygart Arrow doesn't. Not a drop. He's an un-sorcerer, a man who can't make the mineral do anything, and in a place where that ability decides your whole life, he's spent years being the odd one out. Then Athens invades. Golems punch through the border and keep going, straight toward the heart of the Kingdom of Krisna, and nobody can slow them down. Rygart stumbles onto something old, a Golem that hasn't moved in ages, and the one thing nobody expected becomes the one thing that matters: his uselessness is exactly what the machine needs. He climbs in. It answers. Now he's the only pilot who can stand against Athens, holding a weapon he barely understands while the people he loves sit in the path of the war. Can he protect what he cares about before the fighting takes it from him?
