Private detective Hazama Itsuru gets a simple job from Professor Tani: track down some stolen cyborg parts. Routine stuff. Then the trail leads him to Sachiko Yokogawa, and the case turns strange, because Sachiko used to love the original 8 Man, and now she works at Biotecho Corp., trying to live a normal life. Normal ends fast. A cyborg nobody can identify puts Hazama down in the street, and he does not get back up. What does get back up is something new wearing the 8 Man name. Same city, same rain and neon and cyber junkies tearing the place apart, but this one hits harder, fights dirtier, and does not seem interested in playing nice. Sachiko is caught in the middle, tied to a machine that wears a dead man's shape. Is it Hazama in there, or something that just looks like him?
