The war ended, and the soldiers came home to nothing. Berühren Corporation had already flooded the market with cheap cybernetic parts, so the streets filled up with Extended: people who traded flesh for metal and got left behind anyway. Juuzou Inui is one of them. He runs errands out of a grimy office, patching up other people's messes for cash, and he cannot remember a single thing about the man he used to be. Not even the face. Where his head should be sits a giant revolver, and whoever put it there never bothered to leave a note. Then a normal evening goes sideways. A huge armored Extended crashes straight into his office with a kid clinging to his back, begging for help. Word on the street said this one kidnapped a child. Cops want him, gangs want him, and Berühren wants him most of all. Every door Juuzou knocks on slams shut the second he mentions the boy. So now he has to drag answers out of a city that paid good money to bury them. What exactly is this kid carrying inside him that makes powerful men panic?
