Episode 6 · Yasuke

Yasuke

He was the first African to carry a sword for Oda Nobunaga, and the history books mostly forgot him. Now Yasuke hauls firewood and keeps his head down in a Japan crawling with war machines and sorcery. A quiet life. That is all he wants from the ruins of the old one. Then a village turns into a battlefield between rival daimyo, and something far worse comes hunting through the smoke: a child with strange powers, pursued by warlords who want the kid for reasons nobody will say out loud. Yasuke picks up his blade again, not because he feels like a hero, but because he has done this before and knows what happens when nobody steps in. The road ahead runs straight through blood, magic, and men who would rather burn the country down than lose the prize. He has fought armies. He has watched kings fall. So why does one small, silent kid scare him more than any of that?
