Wakaba Girl
Wakaba Kohashi has spent her whole life behind the walls of a rich family's estate, watched over so carefully that she never learned how ordinary kids actually live. So she picks a goal that makes no sense for a girl like her: become a gyaru. Tan skin, loud clothes, zero worries. She shows up on the first day of high school ready for a debut, and immediately bumps into three girls who are nothing like the glamorous crowd she was picturing. Moeko is gentle and innocent, like she stepped out of a storybook. Mao says whatever pops into her head and doesn't apologize for it. Nao is the athletic, level-headed one, except she'd rather be buried in dating sims and yaoi than pay attention to anything else. Somehow these four stick together, copying each other's habits, dragging Wakaba to festivals and waterparks and gym tests she has only read about. The joke is that Wakaba is chasing a life she barely understands, while her friends keep stumbling into hers, mansions and all. Can a girl who never had a normal afternoon figure out how to be normal, and does she even want to?
