Episode 26 · Virtua Fighter

Virtua Fighter

Akira Yuki has trained in Bajiquan since he was a kid, drilled by his grandfather until his fists moved faster than his thoughts. An old legend says the eight stars of heaven only show themselves to someone who has earned real strength. Akira has spent years believing he already has. Then he looks up and sees nothing, and the doubt starts eating at him. So he leaves home to figure out what he is missing. That is when the phone rings, or maybe the news breaks. Sarah Bryant, a college student he knows, vanishes. She had been digging into a strange accident involving her brother, and that digging put her on the radar of a robotics scientist named Eva Durix, who wants to build the perfect soldier and needs a body to do it. Her outfit, Judgment 6, took Sarah. Just like that, a quiet trip about constellations turns into a rescue mission with a lab full of people who do not fight fair. Akira has to punch his way through whoever Judgment 6 puts in front of him, and every one of them hits harder than the last. He picks up allies, makes a few enemies for life, and slowly realizes this whole thing runs deeper than one missing girl. Somewhere in all of it might be the answer he left home for. But can a man who cannot even see his own stars fight well enough to bring her back?
