Forget boardrooms and contracts. In certain corners of Japan this has been settled with fists since the Edo period: you hire a fighter, he steps into the arena, and whoever's man is still standing takes everything. Ouma Tokita hits that scene like a wrecking ball, a scrawny nobody who tears through opponents twice his size and grins the whole time. They call him the Ashura. Then the money shows up. Hideki Nogi, head of the Nogi Group, wants Ouma in his corner, and he hands the kid a manager: Kazuo Yamashita, an ordinary middle aged office worker who has never thrown a punch in his life. Just like that, the two of them are pulled into the Kengan Association's fights, where every bout carries somebody's fortune and every opponent is built to kill. Ouma only wants one thing, to be the strongest, and he will happily break whoever stands in the way to get there. Yamashita just wants to survive the paperwork. Can a guy who has never fought and a fighter who has never lost keep climbing?
