The Three Musketeers
He leaves Gascony with nothing but his father's sword and a letter. Paris swallows him whole: the noise, the crowds, the sheer size of the place. A kid named Jean, an orphan, becomes his first friend in the city. Then, within a day, he manages to insult three of the King's Musketeers: Porthos, Aramis and Athos. Three duels, one afternoon. That takes real talent. Only the duels never happen the way they were supposed to. Cardinal Richelieu's guards show up to arrest them all, and suddenly D'Artagnan is fighting back to back with the same men he just challenged. Five soldiers, four swords, and by the end of it they are brothers. Simple as that. But the Cardinal has bigger plans than dueling laws, and they involve a queen, a secret that could drag England and France into war, and a young man from the countryside who is way out of his depth. So what does it cost four friends to stand between a queen's honor and a war?
