Magic came from a goddess, handed to witches who used it to drag humanity out of the mud. For a while, people were grateful. Then they got scared, and then they got smart. Science caught up, and suddenly the witches weren't needed anymore. The Redia Empire made the call: wipe them all out, every last one. Chloe, a witch of ice, ran with her young apprentice Adonis. They didn't make it far. Soldiers cornered them, and Adonis watched the woman who raised him get humiliated and killed in front of a crowd that cheered. He was just a kid. Now he's something else, and he's decided the magic humans fear so much is exactly what he'll use to bury them. Every soldier, every official, everyone who clapped. The empire wanted a world without witches. Adonis is going to give them one, just not the way they pictured. How far can one boy's rage go before there's nothing left of the person Chloe tried to protect?
