A regular office worker is about to get promoted when he drops dead instead. A god loses a bet, and a handful of human souls get handed over as the wager. One of them wakes up in Galdardia, in a teenage body, with a new name picked on the spot: Luciel, healer. Healers here are rare and they know it. They charge whatever they can squeeze out of people. Luciel decides he won't be that kind of healer, joins the local guild branch, and starts figuring out his magic. Then he fails to save someone, and that failure changes everything. He signs up as an adventurer and puts himself through brutal training under Brod, the Adventurers' Guild's chief instructor, because magic alone clearly isn't enough. Word about him spreads. A healer who helps anyone and doesn't care about the money. What happens when that reputation runs into people who profit from healing being expensive?
